Steinernema feltiae (NemaShield Sf Invivo)

Controls:

Steinernema feltiae (NemaShield Sf Invivo) is a beneficial nematode that is effective against certain nursery and greenhouse pests, especially fungus gnats. It is also used to combat thrips pupae in the soil. The nematodes enter the insect host through body openings. They multiply within the host and release a symbiotic bacterium whose toxin kills the fungus gnats. The larvae are killed in one to two days by blood poisoning. More than one generation of nematodes may develop in dead host insects in the media. The infective juveniles then exit the dead body and search for new hosts to infect. Best known for their ability to control fungus gnats, soil-dwelling stages of thrips.

Application Rate Recommendations for Steinernema feltiae (NemaShield Sf Invivo):

  • Preventative: 10 million nematodes per 1000 square feet.
  • Moderate Infestation: 20 million nematodes per 1000 square feet.
  • Heavy Infestation: 50 million nematodes per 1000 square feet.

Shipping & Returns

Because we ship live insects and want them to arrive to you as freshly as possible, we only ship Monday through Wednesday. This means your shipment will arrive Tuesday through Thursday, possibly Friday if there are any unforeseen delays such as bad weather. Since FedEx does not ship over the weekend, we do not want insects to sit in a fulfillment center where they have a greater chance of not arriving to your garden fresh-as-can-be.
